1. Your contract with Uber discourages you from accepting cash paying customers, since cash customers are not being arranged through the Uber app. Uber does not get a cut from cash paying customers.
 
2. Uber does not allow you to collect tips.
 
3. Your Uber excess insurance liability coverage will only cover customers who asked the Uber app to engage your services (if not engaged then you are at risk of being sued in the event of of an injury to the customer).
 
 In case you didn't realize it. When it comes to your Personal Auto Insurance....
 
1. Your Personal Auto Insurance policy will not provide coverage for any damage, or bodily injury to you, or automobile in the event of an accident. This is because this coverage excludes for-hire use of your automobile.
 
2. If your insurer discovers you are using your car for commercial/for-hire use then your policy will be cancelled!
 
3. In a few states & municipalities Uber provides excess coverage for it's drivers. This however does not cover your injuries or damages from an accident to your vehicle.
